Set in the Medina of Marrakech, in a quiet and well-served neighbourhood, Riad DAR BARBI is a family home in the traditional riad style, furnished according to local tradition. It was born from the owner's love for Morocco and from her wish to welcome you as if you were at home, sharing tips, stories and local customs. The house offers 6 double rooms, a charming patio, a reading and relaxation area and a terrace. Italian, English, French and Arabic are spoken.

Ben Youssef Madrasa
An ancient Koranic school about a 10-minute walk from the riad. Famous for its refined stucco work, its cedar wood carvings and its zellij mosaics, it is one of the masterpieces of Islamic architecture in Morocco.
Marrakech Museum
Housed in the nineteenth-century Dar Mnebhi palace, a short distance from the riad. It holds collections of traditional Moroccan art, ceramics and period weapons, arranged around a majestic decorated courtyard.
Maison de la Photographie
An exhibition space in the Medina, easily reached on foot. It brings together an extraordinary collection of vintage photographs from 1870 to 1960 that tell the story and show the faces of traditional Morocco.
Le Jardin Secret
A restored noble complex in the Mouassine quarter of the Medina. It holds two gardens, one exotic and one Islamic, with lush plants, fountains and a panoramic tower offering lovely views over the rooftops of the city.
Jemaa el-Fna Square
The beating heart of Marrakech, about a 15 to 20-minute walk from the riad. Alive with storytellers, musicians and local food stalls, it is recognised by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Koutoubia Mosque
The monument that symbolises the city, easily reached on a walk from Jemaa el-Fna square. Dating back to the twelfth century, in the Almohad era, it dominates the skyline with its imposing minaret of about 77 metres.

Everything you need to know before you set off.
Check-in is available from 14:00, while check-out must be completed by 11:00. Once you have checked in you are given your own keys, so you can come and go with no time limits.
Yes, the stay is on a bed and breakfast basis, with breakfast served roughly between 8:30 and 10:30. Half board and full board are not available.
All the rooms are doubles and it is not possible to add a third bed or a cot. The property does not accept children under the age of 12.
There is free public parking on the adjacent street; a guarded paid car park is also available nearby.
Smoking is not allowed inside the property, parties and events cannot be held, and pets are not accepted.
Yes, a private shuttle to and from the airport is available on request and for a fee, and we can arrange excursions in the city, to the sea, to the mountains and into the desert. The tourist tax is paid at check-in, if it is not already included in the booking.
